PostSubject: An Ancient Approaches   Tue Apr 08, 2014 3:05 pm

Walking down the Las Vegas strip one see's many things, hotels, casinos and an overwhelming abundance of fools being parted from their well earned money. If one looks closer they also see the darker side of the strip, with the prostitutes and their pimps, drug dealers and user meeting up in back alleys, muggings on pretty much every street corner. There's a reason it's called the 'City of Sin'.  A man watches the milling populace of this cesspit of a city, leaning against the corner of one of the less flamboyant casinos, arms crossed over his chest.

From his appearance one might think he was in fact one of the lowlifes he was just contemplating. With his dark expression, long dark trench coat, pierced ears and black fingerless gloves, he would fit in quite well in the cities underworld. However this man was opposed to the idiocies of the human race, despised how they consumed everything in their paths, leaving not but trash in their wake, and yet, was oddly fascinated with them all at the same time.

The male, who despite his appearance, was not human, squinted his oddly reptilian eyes, spying a mugging happening in an alley across the street. Pushing from the wall Zander jumped, cracking the pavement beneath his feet slightly, landing on a tiered roof of the casino. From there he took a running leap over the streets, no one even noticing his passing above their heads, to land on the roof above the mugger.

Dropping down behind him, the Draconic man taps the crook on his shoulder, growling like only a true beast can. Startled the mugger turns, his knife blade flashing in the lights from the strip, the tip crimson from the blood of his victim. "Who the fuck are you?"

"You're executioner."
Zander replied, cocking his head to one side. Suddenly he lashed out, grabbing the man's wrist, and wrenching the knife from his grip, crushing the bones to pulp. his teeth grew serrated, and he bit into the mans neck, one hand covering his mouth to muffle the mans piteous screams of pain and agony. Zander ripped his head back, tearing a chunk of the man's throat right out, dropping his to the ground to bleed out onto the concrete.

The woman being mugged cowered against the wall, crying and covering her head with her arms, a small gash across her open palms. He spreads his arms and raises his hands. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you."

The woman looked up at him, seeing him covered in blood, and promptly fainted. Zander sighed, and picked up her purse, rummaging inside until he found her cell phone. He called for medical assistance, then walked from the scene, wiping his face on the dead mans shirt.

The heat concurs all, its roaring flame encasing the city, causing a human's eye to see a wave of heet. Such heat shouldn't have such effect on none-human life, for their eyes were trained to see farther and better....bloody bull. A hand claspped over young eyes, trying to see past the harsh glares of the Sin City. Obviously the town was perfect for its name; casinos, hotels and bars lined it streets. The people weren't any different, and for a young female, this was not the safest place.

Every step the girl made was full of hand outs of sex and/or alcohol. Which ended up crumbled and shoved into the man's face. Definately not the town for a child. This was a hazard waiting to happen however if your techinally dead why should it matter. A sigh escaped, echoing the dark alley ways. Her skin was far too pale to be exposed to such dirastic heat and sunlight "bloody freaking hell. Can't the sun die?" Most stopped to look at the girl, her accent heavy but turned when given a harsh look.

Not far from Serafina's position, a blodody and literally bloody, fight seemed to be taking place. Serafina just blinked at the actions taking place, how on earth could she miss something so- then it hit her. Just a bit further down was a...a thing, a vile creature. Something that her heavenly eyes should never had set upn, a demon. Angels and Demons were like cats and dogs, some got along but they were natural enimies. It was natural for them to be, angels supported god while demons....didn't. A sigh escaped, maybe she could sneek away without the male's attention on her, however unlikely since she was small and a 'minor' she drew attention to herself easily.

It was like an easier target for older males, for she was physically weak, however she wasn't. Though that wasn't on her mind, right now it was trying to find an escape route. Her eyes became fearful as his steps advanced towards her, instantly using her small figure, she ducked and hid behind a near by garbage bin. It was easy for her to hide completely behind it, tucking her knees to her chest, her eyes widen and darting to see where she could go.

Zander sighed as he walked away, licking the last traces of the muggers blood off of his lips. He regretted his actions already, knowing that too many questions would be asked about the murder. The murder itself he didn't regret, he saved that woman, and countless other possible victims the man may have had, his death was deserved, and Zander would waste no effort in mourning the loss of his life. He just shouldn't have killed him in that manner.

Movement caught Zander's eye, as a small girl ducks behind a dumpster. Extending his senses out in her direction he catches a scent of fear, and a trace of Angelic power. Zander's eyes widen slightly, and he looks around, tracking for other Angels in the area. Sensing none the Draconic male walked towards the hidden child. When he got close he dashed forward, and placing a hand over her mouth he grabbed the child and disappeared back up the alley. He held the child against a wall, his visage dark. "How did you find me, how many others are out there?!"

He practically yelled at the small Angel, fearing that his centuries, no millennia of hiding had come to an end, that he had been discovered by the Angels and sentenced to death. If it came down to a fight Zander would show them the true power of an Ancient, and hang the consequences. He had spent tousands of years in relative peace, but would respond appropriately to being threatened. "Tell me!"

The murder isn't what bothered the child, no it was the fact a demon was there. A demon is a slayer of angels. That's what scared her. She sensed herself in danger, ready to dart but the man was must faster, her eyes widening. A scream errupted but the sound was muffled by his hand. Just her luck, to be in a fight once more. Her child state screamed and kicked until her adult state kicked in.

She slowly relaxed and looked the man dead in the eyes "I did not find you. Nor am I with anyone..." or That's what she was going to say before her child side took over "I... I'll scream! I'll draw attention, I'll do it!!" Serafina wanted to slap herself for an idiot remark. She was held by a much faster and stronger man, her wings slowly unclasped from her back, the feathers gently brushing the man before disappearing "look I have no idea what your talking about okay? I'm here by myself, so if we could just have a nice little chat without my back against wall, cause it does hurt."

Nothing actually hurt, she just didn't want to feel helpless. Her eyes trailed up to his again, blinking in the dark a bit. If her brother was here this wouldn't have happened. Her thick accent showed she wasn't from her but from the UK, several miles away. Though it didnt look good for her since angels only travel went they are on heavenly missions, her and her brother are the only ones who like traveling to new places.

Serafina held a clenched hand before unclenching and then clenching, her eyes glaring through the man, and past him. She focused lightly, a puddle of water gently rising and falling with her hand movments, ready to strike at any given moment. However she did not want to start something and relaxed her hand, the water gently returning to the pavement, however still ready to use.

Zander merely blinked at the immediate, and childish, reply from the angel. She threatened to scream and draw attention. Then claimed to know nothing about what he was saying, and that she was here alone. The fact that she wanted to talk was good. He nodded, and released the child Angel, backing away. He didn't strictly believe her, knowing full well that Angels could lie, but he needed her to feel safe so she would answer his questions. "You do know who-.... what I am don't you?"

His eyes scanned the area again, hoping to catch a sign should any other Angels arrive on the scene. Zander wasn't going to go down without a fight, and if they thought otherwise they were in for one hell of a surprise. If he had to he would shift, no matter the damage it would cause to the city around them. Zander's hands clenched into fists, and he glared at the Angel.

"Why should I even believe you? Since you know about me now, it's only a matter of time until more of your kind arrive to hunt me down, I should just kill you to stop word of my existence from spreading." His voice didn't show signs of any threats, nor hostility, though the strong accent he spoke with was of no known language. He had a unique way of speaking, and would always have this accent, from the tongue of beasts, his natural language.

Serafina was glad that he seemed to calm down, a slight smile on her face. She glanced once at the end looking like she was about to run then looked at the man as he spoke, his own voice colored with an accent, one she didn't reconized. She gently rubbed her shoulder, feeling the feathers disolve into her skin. She nodded once but didn't speak as she watched him carefully.

A smirk slowly arose but it was covered by a sigh "if you wanted to kill me, you would have already. Demons don't have...mercy for my kind." She reponded very gently showing a side that was beyond a child. Though she looked around the alley way "if I was with someone don't you think I would have an escourt. Even if I didn't then wouldn't they already be here?" She laughed lightly and brushed her short dress off.

Serafina look at him dead on "besides knowing what you are is different then knowing who you are." She said with a simple shrug. She walked back over to the scene, placing a hand on the woman's forehead "however I'll look over the fact you went against my Father by taking a life since it was to save another." She smiled gently sensing the woman was only scared, passing out from the lack of strength. Serafina noticed the light glow which made her rip back, she couldn't absorb the woman's pain... not in front of a demon.

Serafina turned back "besides who wants a big old nasty grump like you in our chambers." She said with a stick out of the tongue, before an eye roll.

Zander glanced over at the child as she rubbed her shoulder, not even slightly sorry that he hurt her. It's not that he is a violent being, but a primal one. Primal beasts don't feel bad about survival of the fittest, it is their world. Zander being a creature of this state would never consider hurting this child as a bad thing, so long as it meant preserving his own life. He would rather NOT have to kill her, because he absolutely hates killing children, due to the Purge.

As the little Angel spoke Zander growled deep in his throat, knowing full well she spoke the truth. He cracked his knuckles by stretching his fingers, shutting his eyes. She spoke sense, and it bothered him. How messed up was that, it didn't want to kill her, but because she was saying he wouldn't do it he was contemplating it. Though the second statement was also true, except for one thing. "This could have been a trap, with you as bait. I doubt you Angels have the stomach for sacrificing one of your own to defeat your enemies though, so I tend to believe you...."

He glanced down at her dirtied dress as she patted it down, and snorted lightly, smirking. This tiny one should great courage in the face of one she considered a foe. And Zander wasn't about to illuminate her to the contrary. He liked having the technical edge here, even if it was being widdled away by her actions and blatant disregard for the danger she was in, should he choose to actually try to kill her. Zander's eyes widened slightly, rethinking everything. She didn't even know who he was!

Now Zander smiled. "You just bought your life with that. So if not here for me, why on earth would an Angel be in LAS VEGAS, sin fucking city." he watched the little angel approach the collapsed woman, just remembering that they stood not too far away from his cri- Zander could hear sirens. Swearing under his breath he started to walk quickly away from the scene, not wanting to be here when law enforcement arrived.

"I'd already be gone, if not for that little twerp! Damn it!" He said mostly to himself, though he didn't doubt that the child could hear him. He heard the insult, and held up a hand, giving her the finger over his shoulder as he walked away. I probably shouldn't provoke the little Angel, all things considered, but fuck it.

Serafina couldn't help but giggle slightly, making a demon angry is her most favorite thing to do. It was so entertaining. However when he.mention sacrafice, her eyes narrowed then relaxed "that would be the highest crime, sacraficing an angel is only the decition of our Father." How dare that man say something like that. That was an insult!

She ignored it as she cleaned herself off even more and smiled lightly. Of course she knew he was a threat, he was a demon for sakes. Her eyes gently blinked as she looked around "yes well.. I was supposed to meet with my brother here but it seemed he flaked. Bloody idiot." She rubbed her temples lightly, however she knew it was dangerout to be walking around with such a small form, it was irritating.

As Serafina checked  the woman's vitals, her ears picked up a high pitch sound. Sirens. Her lips gently turning up into a smile, however that same smile turned quickly down "I'm. Not. LITTLE!" She screamed, using her magical abilities to bent the area around, pulling her hands down. This caused the bricks to crumble slightly and some to pry off the walls, slamming down towards him. She then moved, hitting his back once "you bastard!!!"

However she was not wearing street clothing anymore, no she looked more angelic. Her wings fully developed as they apses to half of their spand, slapping down and gaining a bit of height "humans are easily distracted, time is 10 minutes. I suggest you take the other way." She simply hovered lightly, not bothering to move just yet.

From her height she could see the police, making her land gently and began to swiftly move deeper into the alley way. Her eyes ajusting easily as she used a light glow from her hand to duck into a small area that allowed her to hide from the human police officers, hoping to stay hidden she dimmed the light until it disappeared.

Zander cocked an eyebrow at the Angels reaction. She sounded almost insulted that he even insinuated that her kind would sacrifice one of it's own. He smirked. "So I suppose you know nothing of the ancient wars then, what I speak of used to happen, frequently." He said, slightly giving away the extent of his own knowledge on the subject. Having lived through the war meant to end his species, well he saw just exactly what the 'Father' was capable of sacrificing.

Zander perked up when she mentioned a brother, and his face darkened, a scowl forming. "More damn Angels, just my luck." He quickly looked around the alley again, and extended his awareness, not even bothering to hide his energy as he searched, the swell in his power being quite enormous. His eyes darted to the Angel, before continuing his search. Finding nothing immediately approaching he retreated into himself, not wanting to alert anyone else sensitive to his location.

Zander turned back in time to see the Angel move her hands down, crushing some of the brickwork around them, collapsing some down onto him. Zander raised an arm, and melted all the bricks with such intense heat that not even a drop of molten brick struck the ground, they were burned into fine ash instantly. Since he had turned to face the Angel she hit him in the stomach, rather than the back. He raised an eyebrow, but otherwise ignored it.

However since she had changed into her Angel form Zander smirked. "I'm sorry, am I supposed to be impressed with the sudden change? Or were you hoping I would follow suite? Trust me when I say you don't want that to happen." Zander folded his arms over his chest, cocking his head to one side.

Zander looked past her to see the police, and swore, ducking around a corner deeper into the alleyway, going the same way as the Angel. He rolled his eyes as she found a spot to hide, taking the opportunity to throw one more jibe. "Is hiding all you're good at?" He took a running leap, and grabbed onto a hanging fire escape ladder, using it to pull himself up onto it, making no noise as he landed. He smirked down once more at the Angel. "It's been fun, squirt."

Serafina stopped, her face emotionless. She was told at her rebirth about wars but it didn't seem that an- of course her father could sacrafice them, that's what they were born for. But that seemed so distant, did they even still do that. Her eyes widen. He knew too much for being a normal demon, no he was an elder.

Her light skin colored slightly in shyness as her hand collided with his stomach, it should how physically weak the girl was. This is the one thing she hated the most was her small form. Originally she was one of the strongest female angels, named after a highly thought of angel. She was the best at what she did, beautiful and graceful to no end. But now she was....a child, a hot-headed child.

Serafine glared and shook her head not saying a damn word. She would not allow this man to irritate her more. However that didn't last long. She dashed from her spot, extending her wings as she took off, hovering so she literally was his height, eye to eye. Her eyes narrowed "don't call me that! I'm not a child!" She wasn't about to let him just escape now, he needed to amnswer some questions since he peeked her curiousity.

Zander smirked more as the Angel blushed, her hand pulling away from him. He rolled his eyes once, and then moved on. He was having a good time rile up the Angel, who seemed so quick to anger, her temper flaring with every word he spoke. "Seems to me you're not very good at this whole Angel thing, but hey, what do I know about Angels? Besides how they taste, raw, and cooked. But even I know that usually Angels don't go around having hissy fits for being called a child, especially since, thats all I see."

He crossed his arms again, leaning back against the railing behind him, standing in front of an open window, which he could now hear sounds coming from. Tilting his head to the side he glanced into the window, smirking at the sounds of human love making happening within. He rolled his eyes, and turned back to the floating girl in front of him. "I'll have you know I have wings too, only.... mine are far larger than yours are."

Zander pushed off the rail and began ascended the fire escape to the roof, for no real reason, he just felt like moving. If the little pest wanted to continue this conversation, she would have to flutter along next to him, or heaven forbid, walk with him to the top.

Serafina's face heated more, the coolor intensifying. How dare he mock her!! However he was right, she was easily angered. Tghanks to her split personality given to her as punishment she wasn't like all angels who were calm and collected, how she used to be. She crossed her arms "I just like being called squirt or kid....or angel for that matter I have a name demon, learn manners." She hissed out like any child would do when they were upset.

Her eyes followed to the window where she hovered a bit back, not wanting to hear those sounds. Those sounds were not meant to be heard by a heavenly being. She then placed her bare feet on the metal railing of the escape, her wings keeping her balanced "whoopy little reptile can fly, how adorable." Her eyes rolled and she glanced down at the human's below, scanning quickly before walking with him.

Once she got enough balance on the rail, her wings flattened to her back, her eyes casting down to watch her foot placement. She was thankful for the slits up her dress so she could walk, plus it gave it a nice flowing affect since she was no longer graceful. Her eyes glanced and narrowed, how did he know so much? She sighed, looking up, not caring if she fell or not. For sakes she's an angel with wings, she shouldn't be scared to fall.

Zander just eyed the Angel coolly. "Perhaps you do have a name, but since I don't know it, its hardly my fault for my poor manners, now is it? And besides, didn't you just call me 'demon, 'I have a name you know, learn manners.'" His voice mimicking the womans as best he could, mocking her and her own hypocrisy. He sighed, and continued to walk, heedless of how she kept up.

He looked down at her feet, his face looking thoughtful, as he debated pushing her off or not. He decided to not bother, she had wings, so he would gain nothing out of it, and he would just show her that she was getting under his skin. However he glared at her, growling, and spat a gout of flame at her, singing her dress lightly. "Be careful who you mock, little one." He warned, meaning little one in terms of comparative age, not size, though she probably wouldn't think so.

Finally he reached the rooftop, and stood on the edge, looking out over the street below, below sitting on the edge, his legs dangling over. He sighed, crossed his arms behind his head, and lay back, his leg swinging in the breeze.

Serafina blinked, turning her head in a seemling pout but she wanted to hide her red face "Serafina." Her responce was quick and dripping with venom. She looked over at him with a smirk "besides as you said to me, I dodnt know your name so its not lack of manners." She mocked him right back, both of them the same way.

Her eyes widen, backing up in fear. Big mistake. If it wasn't for her quick reaction time, plus her wings that were not extended, she would have toppled over. She landed on the fire escape itself and looked down, the heat still lingering on her. The flames were to close for comfort. She tried to pat the dress, noticing slight burn marks. Her eyes closed, allowing a light gold aora to encase her hand, running it over the skin of her thigh. She then rushed up, reaching for his arm.

However she waiting till he reached the top, slapping the back of his head just before he laid down, glaring "I'm not little! I'm not a child, I'm not little, I'm not short. So shut your damn mouth!!" She hissed through closed teeth. That was a bad thing to do, she hates being called short or small or little.  Her eyes narrowed "just like you didn't like me teasing you about being a reptile with wings, I do not like being called little, even if its my age or not." She calmed herself and turned her back to him, keeping her wings extended.

Zander nodded as Serafina retorted with his own logic. He looked over at her, and debated if he should give a false name. Shrugging he replied. "You can call me Z." Then Zander thought about it. Why the hell was he still talking to this Angel? Why did he even care?

Zander smirked as she fell from the railing, landing on the actual fire escape, patting down her precious dress. His eyes narrow as her hand begins to glow golden, and he looks from it up to Serafina's face, scowling in thought. He turned away just before she rushed towards him, not even noticing her reach for him, nor stop herself from touching him, until he began to lay down.

Zander growled lightly, and glared up at her, a streamer of smoke escaping from between clenched teeth. "Stop hitting me, Serafina, or you'll end up regretting it. I'll make you join your namesake." He warned, visibly tensing his muscles. He listened to her tirade about being called small, or any synonym, in complete silence, amused slightly by her ferocity. He inclined his head to her last statement, agreeing at least on that.

Serafina was surprised to say the least, he actually gave her a name. She simply nodded with a slight smile "ok Z, I was getting tired of 'demon' anyway." She said with a light tone. However she still wasn't happy about the dress, it was her favorite after all. However she did notice his eyes narrowing at her hands "calm yourself, this power can never hurt someone. it's a healing light." She was explaining in a very gentle matter, as any angel would.

Though her gentle tone because one equal to a raging tide "do NOT filth her name with that mouth of yours Z." No one, NO one dared to even mention Saint Fina name in a negative way. Having a demon was worse. Saint Fina was the highest Saint, it was an honor to even receive her name. Though she sighed and looked away, muttering to her self out loud "but I suppose a demon wouldn't know that."

Her ferocity was the thing that kept her in this smaller form, her attitude. Her hand clenched and unclenched, her eyes staring ahead, her hand slightly golden but not much. She looked down and rolled her eyes "what's a elder dragon demon doing in a place like this? Obviously not just hiding from my kind since you could easily kill a mere angel. Although your a bit weak since you haven't killed me yet."

Zander snorted, giving her a strange look. "You and me both." He cocked an eyebrow, before chuckling uncontrollably for a moment. Of all the Angels he could have bumped into he had the luck to find one whose powers lied in healing, not combat. Beautiful. He finally controlled himself again, sighing in satisfaction. "Oh, I needed that."

Zander's face went completely deadpan, in what any professional would call an impeccable poker face, as the little Angel exploded at him. The only sign of movement was a slight twitching of his right eyebrow. The Dragon cocked his head to one side smirking as she muttered. "You would be surprised by what I know. I've met quite a few Angels and Saints in my day, and I didn't get along with all of them nearly as well as I do with you, and consider how I met you, that's saying something."

Zander leand up on his elbows, looking over at Serafina, wondering what was wrong with her, sometimes she acted like she looked, immature, young, childish, but other times she acted far older and more mature than she appeared. However before he could even bring it up she continued to speak, asking him questions and insulting him. Zander just gave her a funny look. "Who said I was hiding only from the Angels? Besides, I'm one being, if every Angel came at me at once, I would die, no matter how many I take with me. And since when is restraint considered weakness?"

Serafina couldn't help but giggle slightly, it was kind of interesting in a way. She shrugged and looked down at her hands with a slightly sad smile "I can only do so much. I take the pain of others, absorbing it into my own body. Making me-" She shut her mouth quickly. She was never supposed to speak of her abilities, that's why her elements were used only. Serafina sighed, she was getting too comfortable.

Her eyes widen as she looked at him, then narrowed again "I don't care how much you know or not. Saint Fina was...different." She then relaxed and rubbed her neck gently "yeah well it's your fault in the first place, if you didn't pin me I wouldn't have attacked." She looked back ahead and sighed "I suppose that's true. Since both races are the slayers of each other." it surprised her how much her adult side was taking over, however that changed quickly "you didn't show restraint to my dress!" She emphasized by pulling the ends out a bit and frowning.

She sat down and pulled her knees to her chest "I don't get it I should be at the airport looking for my brother not being here..." She straightened quickly noticing again her comfortable attitude and she hated such "besides I have half of mind to still tell my elders about you." She didn't actually but that was just her way of making the situation more tense. She stood on the edge looking down at the humans attending to the woman, her head tilted slightly, watching with slight curiosity.

Zander once more cocked an eyebrow as she cut herself off, but made no comment, he wasn't about to give her a detailed description of his powers either. He respected peoples rights to privacy, so he wasn't about to pry. It would be very hypocritical coming from someone who highly values his only privacy. Zander gave her a cursory glance over as she sighed, shrugging again afterwards. "Keep your secrets close, or else they mean nothing. Trust me on that."

Zander nodded. "She was different indeed, I can still remember... ahem, like I was saying about secrets, keep them close." He cut himself off, a puzzled look on his face. His whole posture spoke of the perplexed feeling he was currently feeling. He scowled slightly, trying to figure out why he nearly spilled his own secrets. Thankfully the little Angel spoke again, distracting him. He chuckled, snorting once. "Its just a dress, besides you're lucky I only singed it a little, imagine what would have happened to you in Sin City if it had been mostly burned away. Or, it could have easily been you I burned up."

Zander sat up as Serafina sat down, leaning away from her, turned slightly to face her. His face fell into a snarl instantly, then realized that she was purposefully riling him up, theres no way she would tell them now that she to him she might, he would go after her instantly if the Angels learned of an Elder Dragon, since NONE should still be alive from the Purge. Zander licked his lips, wondering how much she knew about that particular subject, though he would rather not bring it up. "Y'know, Sera, mind if I call you that? You're playing a dangerous game here, cause if I think you are going to tell them, for even a second, I won't hesitate to end you."

Serafina only nodded as she smiled a bit, but no words seemed to form. Which was fine with her, she didnt feel like talking anyway. She closed her eyes, stretching her arms over her head, popping the bones that are located in her shoulder. She brought her arms down with a satisfied smile, it was abnormal for her to be relaxed, but of course the moment had to end.

She leaned forwards towards him slightly "you can remember? What did you...do..?!" She said quickly and carefully, her curiosity peeking though any demon near a Saint didn't mean something good. However then again she never knew about the Saint, only stories she passed to her brother. Though she quickly balled her hands "yeah yeah whatever! I'll remember that, you old teddy." She said laughing as she teased him however snickered "technically your flames nipped my skin as well, so that right there is enough crime."

Serafina looked at him, a nickname? She nodded "do what you want." She then listened to him more and laughed "is someone a little scared?" Though she the more she thought about it the more it she knew she wouldn't tell anyone "besides I highly doubt your some all high and mighty elder... I hate to have my elders come out on some wild chase." She then looked at him with a smile, as if saying 'your secret is safe with me' though she didn't dare to voice that out loud.

Zander watched the young Angel stretch, a small grin on his face, for no real reason. It vanished the moment he was question further on his memory. He cleared his throat, turning away from her. "It was nothing, a fleeting encounter.... There was a battle, I saw her, I left." He replied, speaking far too quickly, not making eye contact. His voice practically quavered, though he doubted she could tell through his accent anyway. He rubbed the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger, shaking his head slightly.

He jerked his head up at being called an 'old teddy', his jaw literally dropping. He blinked several times before the rest of what she said even clicked. He looked down to where he burned her dress, frowning slightly. "Hmm... must of put my power into that then I intended... oh well." He shrugged, not overly concerned, she seemed fine, most likely healed herself afterwards anyway. A useful ability, he then conceded.

He didn't bother acknowledging the fact that she said it was alright that he called her Sera, since he would have done it regardless. Though he did react to being called scared. "Yes, I'm scared that I'm gonna start another war-" His eyes widen after saying this, swallowing and turning away Fuck Zander, what the hell are you doing?! shut your damn mouth He didn't even contradict Sera, knowing what she was getting at, and quite frankly being surprised by it, especially after their very rocky start. Zander shook himself, was he considering this... a friendship? With an Angel? He might as well put a sign around his neck saying 'Elder Patriach of the Dragons, Akitosh, Akilroth, the Devourer, come and get me'.

Serafina looked at him and giggled slightly, she slightly leaned to his right, poking at his cheek "sounds to me you had more then a fleeting encounter." However she noticed his body language since she didn't notice his voice. Her own accent filled her teasing tones the most. She jumped back slightly not wanting to be hit or at least swung at, not totally trusting just yet.

Serafina burst into tear-filled laughs "that face!!!" However she slowed and saw his frown, she shrugged "I actually heal much faster then normal beings. Really useful I guess." She shrugged. She didn't really see how her abilities were that big of a deal. However to others it was, often using her as a healer in most battles, sadly.

Her eyes widen the same times his did, did he just...? She bit her lip; her mind entering a battle, obviously written on her face, 'comfort him' 'laugh at him' 'no don't!' 'tease him'.... She decided to go with the one she thought best. A hand gently laid on Z's shoulder, a smile on her lips as she knelt next to him "its alright, most of us do not want another war...and you must have seen many hardships and battles."

Zander sighed. That was all he did, not even going to acknowledge the fact that Sera had commented, however he jumped slightly when she poked his cheek. He glared at her, but couldn't reply. He couldn't say anything more about The Saint, without giving himself away completely. And if that happened there was no way he would remain incognito. None at all. So he kept his big mouth shut, not saying a damn word.

Zanders face dropped into a glare again as she bust out laughing at his jaw drop. He sighed, again, and rolled his eyes. "Kids these days, no respect." He did however nod at her when she spoke of her increased healing factor. He snorted again. Most non-humans had better regeneration than humans did, so if she's saying hers is even better than that, it would be quite impressive. He nodded in thought, giving her another once over as he reevaluated his opinion on Sera.

Had Zander been looking at Sera's face he might have noticed the war happening in her head, as it was he was looking out over the city, eyes distant and remembering. His head perked up slightly when she lay a hand on his shoulder, and he turned to face her, looking first at her hand, then at her face as she spoke. He smiled lightly at first, then smirking shook the hand off of him. "Don't coddle me, I'm not a child." Though, he turned away and nearly whispered. "Thanks, Sera... You have no idea how right you are..."

Serafina pouted, not the reaction she was hoping for "oh come on!" She huffed and crossed her arms, she wished she gotten more. She tilted her head to the right, giving a look that was extra cute, she had never done it before, not even once so where she got it she doesn't know, maybe genetic "Z you can tell me."

She smiled lightly as he teased her "old men these days." She mocked, trying to copy his accent but failed badly when it reverted to her british accent. Her eyes kind for once, like a young girl looking at an adult she admired. Though she caught herself and shook it off.

Serafina could see his look, the way he held pain. She moved to sit in front of him, before latching him into a hug. Her hand moved to his head, where she closed her eyes, a bright glow emmitted from her hands, one now on his chest. She focus as hard as she could, easing his mind but only for a bit since her head began to ache. She ripped back, her eyes wide "uh... I have no idea why I just did that!"

Zander hissed through his teeth, in annoyance at her cuteness, not out of anger. He had never spoken about his dealings with any of the other ancients, for simple reasons. Anyone versed in the history of the Purge, or the Dragon wars, or worse both, would be able to identify him if he revealed what he knew. Especially due to his point of view of the events, since he was pretty much the cause of both wars, though many others blamed the ancient Demon lords for their greed and power lust. "I'm not sure if that's true, you may not tell anyone about me now, but if you knew, if you even believed me, you would have no choice but to tell your elders. It's better this way, trust me... Only I can carry this burden."

A small light lit in Zanders eyes as Sera tried to mimic his speech patterns, and he chuckled slightly. "Don't even try Sera, the language I spoke prior to this one, or any other, cannot be duplicated by the throats of men, Angel, or many of the demonic race. The language of the beasts is a dead one to the learned races of the world, and only those old beyond memory can still speak it." He frowned slightly, not sure why he just said all of that, having meant to say no more than don't even try. He shrugged, and smiled slightly.

Zander didn't even understand why she hugged him, let alone how he was supposed to respond. He blinked a couple times. He glanced down at her hand on his chest, eyes widening as he saw the glow, knowing full well that the other would be as well. He quickly went to push her off of him, not for his sake but for her, she couldn't take all of his pain, he carried thousands of years worth of hurt, it would destroy her. However she tore herself away from him, her eyes as wide as his own. Zander shook his head. "It's in your nature, don't apologize for that, just don't do it again. For your own safety. Like I said, this is my burden alone to carry, anyone else would be destroyed by it."
